The Independent Living Training Program (ILTP) is a residential program designed to help neurodivergent individuals develop essential daily living skills and become more confident, responsible, and independent in their everyday lives.
At Approach Autism Society, we believe that every individual deserves the opportunity to learn practical life skills in a safe, supportive, and structured environment.
Objective
The program focuses on promoting self-sufficiency and preparing residents to manage daily activities with greater independence and confidence.
Program Activities
Residents receive guided training in essential daily living skills, including:
Bathing and personal hygiene
Brushing and self-care routines
Organising their bed and personal space
Toilet training and hygiene management
Developing socially acceptable behaviour
Following daily routines and instructions
Communication and interaction skills
Household and community participation activities
Why This Program Matters
For many families, independent living skills are an important step toward building confidence, dignity, and a more secure future for their loved ones.
Through structured support, encouragement, and practical learning experiences, the ILTP helps individuals gradually develop habits and skills that support greater participation in daily life and society.
Our Goal
To create a nurturing residential environment where individuals can learn, grow, and move toward a more independent and meaningful life.
