Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

Leadership & Supervision

Supervise the Chapter Coordinator and Welcoming Navigator, providing weekly one-on-one

meetings and guidance.

Identify and develop local leaders through in-depth conversations and provide ongoing

civic engagement and leadership training.

Facilitate organizational meetings, events, and training for members and allies.

Community Organizing & Outreach

Conduct one-on-one grassroots outreach in the field, including door-to-door engagement.

Organize and maintain local chapters, hold regular meetings, and monitor chapter-specific

communication groups (e.g., WhatsApp).

Create presentations and workshops, including Know Your Rights (KYR) sessions.

Coordinate with partners to host presentations at chapter meetings.

Ensure active member involvement in local, state, and national campaigns.

Reporting & Administration

Perform accurate data entry and write timely, regular reports.

Maintain open communication with community members and partners.

Act as an interpreter to facilitate community members' involvement when necessary.

Collaboration & Representation

Represent SEPA Mujer and facilitate leaders in representing the organization to the media,

legislative bodies, community meetings, coalitions, and funders.

Support communications efforts, including press contacts, email blasts, and social media.

Participate in and collaborate on fundraising and client events throughout the year.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of community or labor organizing experience.

Demonstrated commitment to social justice and the mission of SEPA Mujer.

Experience Working On Long Island Is Preferred.

Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in computer skills, including word processing, databases, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Proven ability to work independently, overcome obstacles, and thrive in a team-oriented

environment.

Must possess a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle for travel throughout Long Island.

Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.

Candidates must be open to working some evenings and weekends as required.
