Secure Third Party Tools (S3T) is seeking a customer-obsessed UX Researcher to join our team and uncover insights that will help reimagine the future of secure third party tools. You will lead in-depth studies to deeply understand the needs, behaviors, and pain points of builders, security stakeholders, and translate those insights into actionable opportunities that shape product strategy and experience design. Our mission is to elevate and maintain Amazon's security standards, ensuring the highest level of protection for our diverse customer base, including shoppers, Amazon builders, and internal security & compliance team. We are looking for a mixed-methods researcher who can generate evidence-based insights that drive product clarity, customer trust, and meaningful outcomes at scale. Key job responsibilities Lead comprehensive journey mapping, Jobs-to-Be-Done, and exploratory research to understand builders, security stakeholders needs across third party security. Design and execute mixed-method research studies across in-person, remote, diary studies, contextual inquiry, surveys, usability testing. Inform segmentation, mental models, and persona development for S3T group. Partner closely with Product, Design, Engineering, Data Science, and Business stakeholders to integrate insights into roadmaps, experiments, and long-term strategy. Synthesize findings across multiple research workstreams to identify patterns, opportunities, risks, and unmet needs. Influence decision-making through clear storytelling, artifacts, and strategic recommendations. Advocate for the customer perspective across the organization and elevate research maturity. A day in the life The Secure Third Party Tools (S3T) engineering team develops and maintains advanced security solutions to protect customers' data across Amazon's third-party partnerships. We build robust capabilities to establish and enforce security standards for third-party partners (3Ps), while continuously assessing, monitoring, and remediating potential vulnerabilities. Basic Qualifications - 3+ years of proven success leading User Research projects with demonstrated impact experience - Bachelor's degree in HCDE, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, or a related field - Experience in leading User Research projects with demonstrated impact - Experience (end to end) with all aspects of research (study design, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting) - Experience with lab-based user testing, remote testing, iterative prototype testing, survey design, and usage of multiple methods within a study - Have a portfolio demonstrating past work experience and deliverables (e.g., study plans, reports, personas) - Experience with all aspects of research (study design, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting) Preferred Qualifications - Master's degree in Human Factors, HCDE, or Cognitive Psychology - Knowledge of quantitative data analysis and statistics - Experience conducting and applying research in a global context - Experience working in a highly Agile/Scrum environment - Experience managing multiple projects, prioritizing, planning, and managing time - Experience with various types of research methodologies is key, including quant, qual, 1P & 3P data, trend analysis & forecasting, etc. - Experience communicating clearly and concisely with leadership, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams - * Experience operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environments with minimal guidance Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $193,600/year in our highest geographic market.
