Job Summary:

As a Rock Climbing Guide, you’ll be the go-to expert for guests seeking vertical adventure. You’ll lead climbing sessions, ensure safety, and inspire confidence in climbers of all skill levels. Whether you’re fitting gear, offering climbing tips, or sharing stories about the mountain, you’ll help guests create unforgettable experiences. Rock climbing experience is preferred, but we will train the right candidate!

 

Job Specifications:

  • Starting Wage: $22.00/hr - $23.48/hr
  • Employment Type: Winter Seasonal 2025/2026
  • Shift Type: Part Time hours available
  • Minimum Age: At least 18 years of age
  • Housing Availability: No

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Have Fun! Create memorable climbing experiences for guests of all ages and backgrounds
  • Be Safe: Perform safety checks on guests and gear, ensuring proper use of auto belay systems and correct harness/shoe fit
  • Serve Others: Explain how the climbing gym works and guide guests through their climbing experience
  • Coach Guests: Support climbers through various routes, offering encouragement, technique tips, and route suggestions
  • Do Right: Sell day passes using the POS system and answer questions about climbing and the resort
  • Drive Value: Assist in maintaining the climbing wall and gear to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment
  • Do Good: Promote respect for the space and help maintain a clean, organized climbing area
  • Be Inclusive: Support climbers of all experience levels with patience, enthusiasm, and encouragement
  • Stay Flexible: Every day brings new guests, new challenges, and new opportunities to lead and inspire
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Job Requirements:

  • Be sturdy: Standing for long periods
  • Be nimble: You’ll be climbing throughout your shift and must be able to climb harder routes; twisting, turning, bending, and lifting (up to 50 lbs.) throughout the day
  • Be friendly: Clear and comfortable communication with guests of all ages and backgrounds is key
  • Be calm under pressure: You’ll need to stay composed and confident in dynamic situations
  • Be comfortable at height: You’ll be working on vertical terrain and must be confident in high places
  • Background check required
  • Be reliable: Show up on time and ready to be part of a fun, supportive team
  • A Rock Climbing Guide is a flexible team member who may support multiple roles, including:
  • Rock Climbing Gym Guide
  • Ticket Sales
  • Rock Climbing Gym Attendant.

 

The expected pay range is $22.00/hr - $23.48/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
