Summary:

The Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for operating Sennebogen mobile wheel cranes and/or excavator with a mobile shear attachment, as well as performing the required daily maintenance on machine. Will be required to load and unload trucks, safely move material to and away from our burning area, and feed automobile shredder when required. Must be familiar with and adhere to equipment and operator limitations and safe operating procedures at all times.

Essential Job Functions:

• Move, prepare, sort, load/unload, material around the yard.
• Use mobile share to process scrap metal per mill requirements.
• Work hand in hand with other operators and yard personel to complete safely and on time.
• Maintain inventories of the various departments.
• Perform daily maintenance on varies pieces of heavy equipment.
• Turn in maintenance work orders to supervisor for needed repairs. Be proactive in the maintenance of equipment.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
• Performs other tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED.
• Industry experience in scrap metal is preferred.
• At least two (2) year experience being an operator.
• Ability to work inside or outside as required.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Must be safety-oriented and exhibit safe work habits.
• Punctual and reliable; good attendance required.
• Self-motivated and eager to learn new skills; must be willing to cross-train on other equipment.

Work Hours:

• Monday through Friday 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Saturdays when needed, the overtime schedule is subject to change in accordance with the production needs of the business.
